I’m Robert Bartlett, the proud owner of The Tax Shop Inc.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
In 1987, I began working in public accounting for a mid-sized Toronto firm. Their clients covered a broad spectrum of Canadian businesses, from small “mom & pop” shops to publicly traded corporations and everything in between. I have gained a ton of experience and knowledge, I advanced to a Senior Manager position within the firm. To enhance my corporate skills, I then took up a multi-year assignment as a Controller for a prominent Canadian subsidiary company. I later got the opportunity to take a lead position on a restructuring and integration team for a food manufacturer acquisition.
In 2002, I decided to return to private practice and formed “The Tax Shop Inc.” to respond to the needs of small and mid-sized businesses throughout the private sector.
As a business, we have progressed and grown tremendously. We now have more computerized accounting/bookkeeping, more transparency, and more international transactions than ever before!
As a business owner, my philosophy is simple – I treat people the way I would like to be treated if I was the client. I also operate my business on values of honesty, integrity, transparency, and hard work.
As a tax accountant, the most fulfilling part of my job is helping clients develop effective tax and business strategies that save money on their taxes. Whereas, as a business owner, the most satisfying part of owning this business is knowing that our client base is growing.
I believe the primary reason for our continuous growth and business success is because we offer unmatched customer service and excellent work at a reasonable price.
When I’m not assisting clients, I spend most of my free time with my family. I also play golf and renovate my home whenever time permits.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
